Steamboat Eye Clinic was founded in 2012 on Steamboat Quay in Limerick. We are two full-time ophthalmic surgeons (Philip O’ Reilly and Sylvia Jungkim) and are both fully Irish trained and registered, with subspecialty training abroad in Oculoplastic Surgery and Glaucoma Surgery respectively. In 2017 we moved a few doors down to our newly fitted 3000 square foot premises. We have all manner of modern, state of the art diagnostic ophthalmic equipment on-site. We also have an orthoptic room with a visiting orthoptist.
We have built a strong reputation over a number of years and offer a high quality, personal and honest service to our patients. We are available on-site every day (Monday-Friday) and aim to see patients within days and where required arrange surgery within weeks.
A cataract is a clouding of the lens in the eye which leads to a decrease in vision.
Glaucoma is an eye disease in which damage to the eye nerve can lead to loss of vision.

A dry, burning, foreign body sensation in the eyes.
Including Yag Capsulotomy, Yag Peripheral Iridotomy and Argon Laser Photocoagulation.
