Dry Eyes

Dry Eyes are a very common problem particularly as we get older. Commonly people complain of a dry, burning, foreign body sensation in the eyes. The eyes may also be watery at times, particularly outdoors and in the wind or in conditions of reduced blink (such as reading or watching television). Interestingly,  dry eyes are the commonest cause of the eyes being watery.

Dry eyes cannot usually be cured and surgery is rarely indicated. They can, however, be managed, with drops and a number of other supportive measures.
